Himachal Nine candidates have filed their nominations in the districts on Wednesday, the third day of the ongoing nomination filing process for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur (57) son of late Jethu Ram, village Tandi, Post Office and Tehsil Thunag filed nomination as BJP candidate from Saraj assembly constituency of district Mandi. Major (Retd) Khem Singh Thakur (51) son Brikam Singh village Khiuri, post office Rajgarh, Tehsil Balh from Mandi Sadar assembly constituency as an independent candidate, Prakash Choudhary (60) son from Balh assembly constituency, Sohan Lal, house number 45/2 Dador, Tehsil Balh Congress, Inder Singh Gandhi (60) son Gandhi Ram Gaon Ghatta, Post Office Kummi, Tehsil Balh filed nomination papers as BJP candidate. Rajesh Dharmani (50) son Ratan Lal village Jaman, Tehsil Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district, Congress, especially Lal (53) son Late in Shimla district. Shukru Ram, Village and Post Office Khaneri, Tehsil Rampur Bushahr Independent from Rampur Assembly Constituency, Naresh Kumar Darji (54) son Om Prakash in Hamirpur District, Village Sasan, Post Office Jhaniyari Devi Independent candidate from Hamirpur, Suman Kumar from District Kangra Sulah Assembly Constituency (27) Son Kartar Chand, Village Padher, Post Office Balla, Tehsil Palampur as Indian Political Vikalp Party candidate and Chandra Bhan (56) Son Bhola Nath, Village Mandher, Post Office Boda, Tehsil Palampur as Independent candidate from the same assembly constituency Nomination filed.
CM Jairam Thakur assets increased by one crore in five years
The movable and immovable assets of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have increased by about Rs 1 crore in the five years after the 2017 assembly elections. His movable assets have increased by about sixty lakhs. Immovable assets have increased by Rs 44 lakh 50 thousand.
During the filing of nomination papers on Wednesday, the Chief Minister gave details of his assets to the Election Commission. In this statement, he has disclosed Rs 41,000 in cash and Rs 39,500 with his wife. The total movable assets are Rs 1 crore 79 lakh 48 thousand 614.
Wife has movable assets worth Rs 1 crore 28 lakh 05 thousand 747. 1,20,39,466 and Rs 50,71852 in the year 2017. The cost of immovable assets of the Chief Minister is one crore 79 lakh 50 thousand, which was one crore 35 lakh in 2017.
Whereas, this time his wife has assets worth 52 lakh 50 thousand and last time it was only 35 lakh. CM has 10 policies in the name of savings and this time he has also taken only one vehicle Innova, which costs 13.50 lakhs.
In 2017, he also had a Scorpio, which has been sold. In gold ornaments, the Chief Minister has three gold chains worth three lakh 10 thousand rupees. His wife has 375 grams of gold, which is worth Rs 17 lakh. The Chief Minister has also purchased property worth Rs 7 lakh.
The Chief Minister has a house loan of 26 lakh 88 thousand 280. The Chief Minister has given income tax of Rs 21 lakh 52 thousand 553. The chief minister’s daughters have assets worth Rs 44-44 lakh.
Political journey of CM Jairam Thakur
CM Jai Ram Thakur was born on 6 January 1965 in Saraj Mandi. He entered politics from student politics in Mandi Vallabh College. In 1986, became joint secretary in the state unit of ABVP. He was the organization secretary in the Jammu and Kashmir unit of ABVP from 1989 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995, he was the state secretary and state president of BJYM.
He was the President of District Mandi BJP from 2000 to 2003. He was the state vice-president of BJP from 2004 to 2005. In 2006, the high command handed over the command of the state president to Jairam.
The party was divided into Shanta and Dhumal camps at that time. By bringing workers and leaders on one platform, he brought power to the BJP in the 2007 assembly elections.
He lost in 1993. Reached the assembly after winning the 1998 elections. Became Vice President of Food and Supplies Corporation. Won for the second time in the 2003 election. Hat-trick of victory in 2007. In 2012 and 2017 he won the election and rose to the chair of CM.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday addressed the election rally at Kuthah Mela Ground in Janjehli before filing his nomination papers from the Saraj assembly constituency.
