Electricity water free and bus fare half in Himachal Pradesh
Chamba: In Himachal Pradesh, women will get 50% discount on fares while traveling in transport corporation buses. From July 1, consumers consuming 125 units or less electricity per month in the state will not have to pay any bills. This will benefit 11 and a half lakh consumers of the state. Apart from this, people of rural areas of the state will also not have to pay water bills.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur made these announcements during the 75th State Level Himachal Day celebrations organized at the historic Chaugan in Chamba on Friday. Earlier, along with unfurling the national flag, the Chief Minister also took salute at the march past of volunteers of Police, Home Guard, NCC and NSS. IPS officer Mayank Chaudhary presided over the parade.

Apart from this, in the category of Himachal Gaurav Award, Padma Shri Baba Iqbal Singh’s award was given to Sardar Jagjit Singh, Vidyanand Saraik, Lalita Vakil, Dr. Gautam Distressed and Dr. Pratyush Guleri for better work in the field of literature and Vijay Raj Upadhyay for sculpture.
