Schools opened for classes 10th to 12th in Himachal Pradesh from August 2, nine days ago, have been closed again from August 11 to 22 amid rising cases of corona. It has been made mandatory for those coming to Himachal from outside states to show a negative report of corona or a certificate of getting both doses of the vaccine. Buses running for state and outside states will also run with 50 percent seating capacity.
Both these decisions will be considered effective from August 13. These decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat on Tuesday late evening. The earlier arrangement for students of classes V and VIII to consult teachers in schools has been put on hold.
It will be mandatory for teachers to come to schools. Teachers will get students to study online from schools itself. A decision will be taken in two-three days to start the new academic session in colleges from August 16. At the same time, there was no talk in the meeting regarding ITI and coaching centers.
Hence, they will remain open as before. The Education Department and the Disaster Management Department have issued separate orders in this regard. It is noteworthy that during the last one week, more than 150 students in schools have come under the grip of corona infection.
Buses from outside states will be checked at the entrances
The checking of buses coming to Himachal from outside states will be done at the entrance gates. Tickets will also be given to the passenger in Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses returning from outside states only if he shows corona negative report or certificate of vaccination. Buses from outside states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand etc. will be inspected at the border. The police will investigate the report of the passengers coming in these. The cabinet has taken this decision due to the increasing cases of corona.
