The cabinet can take a formal decision in this regard. This meeting of the cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur is going to be held after the consultation of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) held two days ago.
In such a situation, naturally it can have more decisions on the issues of the employees. The issue of giving revised pay bands to police constables may also go up in the Himachal cabinet meeting.
Decision on amendment of recruitment and promotion rules of many employees is also possible. A cabinet meeting can also be held on many subjects including the opening of a state university in Mandi.
Presentation can also be given in this meeting on Covid-19 vaccination. The state government has set a target of vaccination of the second dose by December 5. The current status of Covid and the new variant will also be discussed.
At the same time, the state government can challenge the decision of the State High Court regarding JBT recruitment. The matter is also likely to be discussed in the state cabinet meeting to be chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday. In a similar case, the Rajasthan High Court has given relief to JBT teachers. In such a situation, the Law Department of the Himachal Government has started reviewing the decision of the Rajasthan High Court.
Departmental sources said that the education department is also in favor of recruiting JBT under the current recruitment and promotion rules. The State High Court has ordered the Education Department to revise the recruitment and promotion rules.
In such a situation, the departmental officers are of the opinion that amendments in the recruitment and promotion rules can be done for the future recruitments. The recruitment process issued earlier should be as per the old rules. The matter will be apprised of the cabinet on Tuesday. Due to the matter being pending in the court, the recruitment process for about 2500 posts of JBT has been stalled since the year 2019.
