2,145 new JBT and TGT posts will be appointed in Himachal Pradesh schools soon. The recruitment process has been stalled due to three upcoming by-elections in the state. On Wednesday, the Election Commission gave permission to the education ministry to create the programme. The elementary school board is now preparing to release a plan. 1,122 JBT and 1,023 TGT teachers will find employment through various means.
These teachers will also be given training for 15 days on the methods of teaching. The Directorate of Elementary Education has declared the result of batchwise counseling held during October-November 2023 on 13 March 2024. In this, 496 candidates have been selected in TGT Arts, 333 in Non Medical and 194 in Medical.
The education department had sought approval from the High Court to fill 1,161 posts of JBT teachers batchwise. The court has given the green signal to start the appointment process for 1,122 posts while ordering not to declare the results of some recruitments.
Director of Primary Education Ashish Kohli said that appointments will be given soon.
