The Himachal Pradesh government has made changes in the holidays of schools with summer vacation. Winter break will now be given in these schools from January 3 to 8, whereas earlier winter break was given in schools from December 25 to 31.
In order to break the chain of corona in Himachal schools, this time the government has decided to give holidays simultaneously in winter and summer vacation schools. However, winter vacation schools will have holidays from January 1 to February 15.
Orders in this regard have been issued by the Himachal government. In such a situation, these orders will be applicable in all government and private schools affiliated to the Board of School Education of the state. During this, 6 days holidays have been observed in Summer Vacation Schools and 46 days in Winter Vacation Schools.
Himachal Education Secretary Rajiv Sharma says that this decision has been taken in view of the increasing cases of corona in schools. Under this, all the schools in the state will remain closed in the first week of January. This will help break the chain of corona epidemic.
Himachal teacher organizations objected to the decision of the government
Teachers’ organizations have objected to the changes made in the holidays of summer vacation schools. Teachers say that they have fixed their schedule according to the holidays from 26 to 31 December. In such a situation, teachers are not happy about the holidays from January 3 to 8. Teachers are demanding holidays from the government as per the old schedule.
State President of Himachal Government Teachers Association, Virendra Chauhan has demanded the State Government and the Education Secretary to withdraw this decision and restore the old schedule of holidays.
On the other hand, Vijay Heer, general secretary of the Himachal TGT Arts Association, has also demanded from the Himachal government to take holidays under the old schedule.
