Breaking News : Tajinder Bittu close of Priyanka Gandhi joins BJP

Tajinder Bittu, who was close to Priyanka Gandhi, left the Congress and joined the BJP. Priyanka Gandhi’s close Tajinder Singh Bittu joined the BJP in Delhi on Saturday, hours after resigning from the Congress. This development marks another setback for the Congress, which has seen a strong lead in the Lok Sabha elections in recent weeks.

Bittu, Congress secretary in-charge of Himachal Pradesh, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and party general secretary Vinod Tawde. Earlier in the day, Bittu resigned from the party in a letter addressed to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. “I tender my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress and my post of AICC Secretary cum-in-charge of Himachal Pradesh with immediate effect,” he said in the letter.

Bittu shared his resignation letter in a Facebook

Bittu shared his resignation letter in a Facebook post with the caption, “With a heavy heart, after 35 years, I am resigning from the Congress Party.” Meanwhile, several Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh, including a former MLA, joined the BJP. Former Congress MLA Hari Vallabh Shukla along with his supporters joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the state BJP office in Bhopal.

Congress is looking at high-profile exits

In March, Congress spokesperson Rohan Gupta resigned from the party, citing “harassment and character assassination” by some leaders in the party. Rohan Gupta was named as the party’s candidate from Ahmedabad East constituency. However, he opted out of the race.

Earlier, spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh and Olympic medalist and boxer Vijender Singh left the Congress. Veteran Mumbai leader Sanjay Nirupam also resigned, although the Congress claimed he was expelled for “anti-party” activities. Most of the leaders who have resigned from the party have accused the Congress of being “directionless” and completely cut off from the ground.
