Weather Update Himachal : Rainfall is a disaster in Himachal

Due to rain, the clouds of danger have started hovering over the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway once again. The NH has sunk by about one foot due to the sinking of the dam near Pandoh Dam. Landslides have also occurred at various places on one lane near the scissors turn. Landslides are also occurring from the hill in Nine Mile between Mandi and Pandoh. Due to this, traffic remained halted for about a quarter of an hour on Wednesday afternoon. There are chances of rain in most parts of the state on Thursday as well. Heavy rains are likely to continue in most parts of the state from 5 to 7 July. The weather is likely to remain bad in the state till 9 July.

Highest rainfall in Katola of Mandi, Pandoh, Dharamshala, Mashobra

On Tuesday night, the highest rainfall of 154.4 was recorded in Katola of Mandi and 106 in Pandoh, 48 in Dharamshala, 45 in Mashobra, 34 in Mandi, 30 in Kufri-Sundernagar, 18 in Nahan, 22 in Palampur, 18 in Kangra, 13 in Narkanda, 11 in Barthin, 26 in Paonta Sahib, 12 in Dehra Gopipur and 8 mm in Shimla. In the last 48 hours, 562 percent more rain than normal was recorded in Mandi. The drain in Anaha village of Saraj Valley was flooded. Two bikes and a car got buried in the debris that came with the water. Which were pulled out with difficulty by the villagers.

Road to Baggi from Mandi to Parashar has completely collapsed

Due to heavy rains the road to Baggi from Mandi to Parashar has completely collapsed. On Wednesday power crisis deepened in many areas of Chamba and Mandi districts. Due to the rain 129 power transformers in Chamba district and 64 in Mandi stopped working. Besides this, vehicular movement was also halted on 17 roads in the state. Meanwhile, drizzle continued in the capital Shimla and Dharamsala on Wednesday. The weather remained mixed in other areas of the state. The humidity has increased due to the sunshine in the plain districts.
